I’m a bit of a rarity here at Hall in that I’m a roadie to the core. Although I have taken a liking to gravel riding over the last few years (which is still really road riding on a rougher surface).
Like most people, I’ve been riding bikes since I was a kid. From the beginning, I’ve liked to push myself to see what my physical boundaries are. The family lore is that I was out for bike ride with my dad when I was a youngster on a single-speed bike. When we got to the base of a steep hill my dad said, “see you at the top.” He looked back when he got to the top and found I was still right on his back wheel. To this day, I still don’t like it when people gap me. My dad and I started to doing RAGBRAI when I was 10 years old.
I like to travel the country to find different places to ride. I tend to gravitate toward mountainous terrain. I like riding in the Rockie Mountains but, as of late, I have a preference for the Blue Ridge Mountains for the scenery.
I have always been an exercise enthusiast. The thing I love most about working at Hall Bicycles is helping people find the right bike that will help them live a healthier lifestyle… and have a LOT of fun!
