Our Global Fat Bike Day is just around the corner and once again we will be hosting a fat-tastic ride to celebrate!
The first question many may ask is “Why isn’t this ride on Dec. 5th?” and that is an excellent question. The answer is that the weekend of the Official GFBD (12/5) is the same weekend as Jingle Cross, a very well attended and awesome cyclocross race in the Iowa City area. To accommodate everyone, we felt it was best to celebrate our fatness on the following Saturday, hence the December 12th date.
9 am – 10:30 am – Meet at Hall’s for free coffee and hot chocolate.
10:30 am – Depart for an epic ride traversing a wide range of terrains. We will follow a very similar route as last year, riding approximately 20 miles stopping for laughs and comradery along the way.
1 pm (approximately) – End back at Hall Bicycle. Many of us will split off and go to any number of food/drink establishments in the downtown area for lunch.
This is a completely open event and everyone/anyone is more than welcome to attend. Fat Bikes are by no means a requirement, however we will be riding approximately 20 miles of off-road/rough terrain, so please take this into consideration.
We will continue to update this event with more information as the big day nears.
